Das Jahr 2008 verabschiedet sich mit strahlender Sonne und eisiger Kälte.
The year 2008 says Goodbye with sunshine and frost.
Wir hatten einen Waldspaziergang mit tollem Sonnenuntergang am letzten Tag im alten Jahr. We had a walk in the forest for the last time in 2008 with a wonderful sunset.

Cats on Tuesday

It is very cold in northern Germany. We have -7°C /20°F. All cats decided better to stay in the house at night. Only Luna was outside this morning to watch over the mice.
Luna is observing the living room. Oh nothing serious only Olli gets visit.
Olli sees that event different.....his brother visits our house. He is going to his new forever home to the humans cousin Carola and her daughter and made a stop in our house.
How excited is that. Can you see the color of our tails?
The brother is running through the whole house.....
Olli observed his behaviour.....can you see his ears.....
Now it is enough ..... Olli beats the brother.....
Why do you beat me ......????
I´m the boss here in our house and I think you must know that.

It is better that the human has no photo when the brother beats Olli too.

The brother was the last kitten that don´t found a new home and my cousin and her daughter decided to have a new cat after the death of her beloved cat Sammy last month.
We think Ollis brother is a good successor.

Ufos on Sunday

Was fliegt denn da ? What is flying there? UFOs ???Patch wundert sich....Patch is wondering.....
Die Kids haben RC Hubschrauber vom Weihnachtsmann bekommen. The kids received RC Helicopters from the Santa.
Während Patch Angst vor den Fliegern hat, finden die Katzen sie so spannend, dass sie versuchen sie aus der Luft zu fangen . Patch is afraid of that but the cats are excited about that they try to catch the helicopters
Luna ist der Spitzmaus von Goldie, Shade and Banshee verfallen. Das war das beste Spielzeug, dass sie je hatten. Luna is falling in love.....Olli shared the shrew of Goldie, Shade and Banshee with her... that is the best toy they ever had!!! Thanks again !

Luna, Luzie and Olli and the humans received a Christmascard of Goldie Schade and Banshee from Canada.
Olli found the envelope and was not able to let off it. He sniff and lick the envelope....really!!!
What a sm eeeeellll !
He was allowed to have a look in the envelope....what is that? A small wrapped package. Olli unwrapped the package...all by himself.
He was crazy by unwrapping and sniffing ..... and finally he found.....
....a mousie.....
....Goldies Mom included a felted shrew in the envelope. A shrew with a fantastic smell.
Olli was happy with all the smell and wanted to kill the shrew. But I don´t let him because it is a shrew for Luna and Luzie too. But now he is sad and asked me please let me the shrew.....Wer asked Luna and Luzie and they let him the mousie because they can catch mousies outside and Olli was not yet allowed to go outside .

Thank you for that fun Goldie Shade and Banshee !!!

4.Advent

Advent, Advent ein Lichtlein brennt...und nun ist es schon die 4. Kerze....

Bei Kerzenschein und Kaffee und Kuchen ....With Candlelight and coffee and cake...
....haben wir den 4. Advent gefeiert.....we celebrated the 4. Advent
Das größte Päckchen an Steffens Adventkalender war das 21. The largest package on Steffens Adventcalendar was the 21 th.
Er hat in diesem Jahr einen Playmobil Adventkalender.... He has a Playmobil Adventcalendar...
...das Modell mit der Polizei. Wenn ihr das Bild unten vergrößert könnt ihr sehen das dort auch eine Katze im Diorama ist ....the model with Policedepartment.If you enlarge the picture below you can see there is a cat in the diorama too
...für alle die nicht mit dieser Tradition vertraut sind habe ich dieses Video gefunden.

Dear friends,
welcome to our kitty home today!

Maybe you wonder why I don´t post many pictures of Luna. The reason is that Luna hate the flash so much that she tries to escape whenever she see that I have the camera in my hand.
I don´t want to worry Luna and decided to make more photos in the brighter season again.
Here is a picture of Luzie on her favorite place. I took the photo this morning. She always sleep on the stairs and we have to be very careful when we go up or downstairs.

3. Advent

Es ist winterlich kalt draussen. Wir hoffen, dass es heute alle kuschelig haben da draussen in der Welt. It´s cold today. We hope every one outside there in in the blogosphere stayed warm and cuddly today. Auch die Degus haben sich aneinander gekuschelt. Also the Degus are cuddly together.
Übrigens ist das Lunas Aussicht durch die Gitter. This is Lunas view behind the bars.
Miss Peach fragt heute in ihrem Blog nach winterlichen Kindheitserinnerungen.Dazu habe ich dieses Foto aus den 60er Jahren von mir und meinem Vater im Winter gefunden. Miss Peach asked today who has memories of what we have done outside in our childhood when it was cold. I found this picture from the 60th of me and my Dad in the snow.
Wir haben heute leider keinen Schnee, trotzdem wünsche ich euch allen einen kuscheligen 3. Advent.
We have no snow here today but I wish you all a wonderful and cozy 3. Advent Sunday.

Friday again!

Und schon wieder ist Freitag. Die Hälfte der Adventskalendertürchen sind bereits geöffnet. Sonntag ist schon der 3. Advent.
And it´s Friday again.The half of the Adventcalendar is opened. Sunday will be the 3. Advent. Die Tage werden hektisch....trotzdem hatte jemand Zeit an Frieda zu erinnern. Dieses ATC hat uns Miss Peach geschickt. Für den Engel Frieda.
The days are hectic. Nevertheless a sweet friend has time to remind Frieda. Miss Peach and Karla sent us this amazing Artist Trading Card. For Frieda. The title of the ATC is: My cat is an Angel.
We are also sad to read that our furry friends Sammy, Skeeter, Cloud Chaser and Kelly are gone to the rainbowbridge. We are purring for their families.


Die Tage sind kalt und kurz, aber wir haben viele Kerzen und Lichterketten und machen es uns gemütlich. The days are cold and short but we have lots of candles and lights to make our home cozy.

The new toy

Yesterday we found in a local petshop these new cat toy and bought it for Olli.
He discovered it imediately.
It crackles very interesting inside....
Olli is a jumper. He love it to jump in or on everything. He jumped with that tunnel through the house.
Then he was tired and fall asleep ...as usual with a toy in his arms.
Behind the bars!
Luna is a outdoor cat but when she is inside she has a favorit toy too
Her place is behind the cage of the Degus. She love to observe the tiny pets busy run arround in their cage.
But can you see that impression in her eyes??? I think the Degus can be lucky to be behind the bars....
