Gerne hätte ich Euch solche Bilder gezeigt, aber leider haben wir keinen Schnee. Es ist ein altes Bild vom Januar 2007.

Gladly I would have shown you those pictures, but unfortunately... we have no snow. This is a picture of last January.Seit Weihnachten blüht diese rote Amaryllis bei mir. Ein Farbtupfer in diesen trüben Tagen zwischen den Jahren.
Since Christmas this Amaryllis blooms here. It is colourful in this gloomy days between the years.
Es ist das letzte Wochenende in diesem Jahr. It is the last weekend in 2007.

Winterwonderland

Es ist Winteranfang und passend dazu hat Frieda sich dekorativ zu meiner winterlichen Terrassendekoration gesetzt. Katzen können immer so dekorativ sein...

Cats can always be so decorative... Passend zum Winteranfang hat sich die Landschaft in ein "Winterwonderland " verwandelt. Hier einige Bilder aus dem Auto fotografiert.

Hier ist noch ein "schneller" Dekoteller. Der Holzteller ist von Ikea, das Sternenband ist eigendlich Geschenkband.

That is a fast decoration. The wooden plate is from Ikea. Noch ein Teller.... das ist meine Etagere, die ich passend zu jeder Jahreszeit dekorieren kann.

Klitzekleine Kurrendesänger ganz groß. Das ist eigentlich ein Miniturkerzenständer aus dem Erzgebirge.

Heute Morgen hat Luna einen Weihnachtsbrief von ihrem Freund Adan aus Taiwan erhalten.
This morning Luna received her Christmas letter from her friend Adan from Taiwan. What a great surprise !!!
Oh....Thank you, Adan ! That card is so beautiful !
And what is that ? A small heart from Adan !!! For me ? Luna, that is a Christmas tree pendant for you ! Da ist ein kleines Herz für Luna, ein Tannenbaumanhänger mit Adans Foto !

Das ist unser Nachbarkater Anton. Er ist heute unser Gast. Seine Menschen sind für ein paar Tage weggefahren. Weil er sich einsam fühlt und es draussen so kalt ist, darf er zu uns kommen. Unseren Katzenfernseher findet er ganz toll !!!
That´s our neighbors cat Anton. He is our guest today. His Beans are a few days away. Because it is so cold ( - 2,5 °C) outside, he can come into our house. He loves to watch our cats TV.

Cats on Tuesday

Today we had a sunny winter day. Sunny and cold (0°C/25°F)

Luna love it to nap on the summer terrace, if it is not too wet or stormy outside.
I gave her a blanket on the garden furnitures to lie on it.
Frieda is using the sunny day to bird hunt.
...she is climbing high....
...but not successful with catching birds...
Luna received today a lovely Christmas card from her friend and name sister Luna in Spain.
"Thank you" for the lovely card and the beautiful photo, Luna and Paulina.

Engel und Herzen Angel and Hearts

Heute habe ich noch ein paar "Last Minute" Basteltips.
Diese Engel habe ich schon im letzten Jahr gebastelt. Sie sind aus Tonkarton. Die Flügel und Sterne sind aus Silberkarton. Mit Draht verbunden bilden sie eine Girlande.

Here I have a few "last minute" decoration tips. Those angels are with card and with wire they built a garland.Das ist meine kleine Engelsammlung aus dem Erzgebirge. Das Teelicht im Hintergrund ist mit Serviettentechnik verziert.

That is my small wooden angel collection from the ore mountains. The tea light in the background is with napkins decorated.
Der Vogel ist aus Papier geflochten. The bird is braided with paper.
Dieses Buch habe ich in unserer Bücherei. Darin gibt es jede Menge Anleitungen für verschiedene Flechtherzen und Sterne. I found that book in our library. There are a lot of instructions for different braided Paper hearts .
Es ist nicht aufwändig, man braucht nur verschiedenes Papier und eine Schere . Das Flechten ist allerdings ein wenig kniffelig. Die gefalteten Sterne habe ich von Karla/ Miss Peach bekommen
You need only a few different paper and a scissors. The weave is a bit tricky. The folded stars are a table decoration from Karla/Miss Peach.

Hier ist das Ergebnis. Das sind die einfachen "Herzen". Die Schneeflocken auf dem linken Herz sind "nicht" geklebt, sondern geflochten. Zur Zeit versuche ich gerade ein etwas anspruchsvolleres Muster, habe es aber bisher noch nicht geschafft. Wenn es mir doch noch gelingt, zeige ich es bestimmt noch.
Here is the result. These are the simple Hearts. The snowflake is not glued, it is braided. At the moment I try a difficult pattern, but I have it not managed. I show it if I succeed.
Dieses kunstvolle gebastelte Herz mit einer Krippenszene, habe ich in dieser Woche von Karla und Miss Peach erhalten. Darüber habe ich mich sehr gefreut. Karla hat von mir auch ein Vintage heart bekommen.
Ausserdem habe ich schon das Herz von Birgit unserem Vintage Heart Christmas swap erhalten, das zeige ich aber erst nach dem Einsendeschluß am 3. Advent.
This beautiful self made heart I received from Karla and Miss Peach this week. Karla received also a self made heart from me . I also received the heart from Birgit but I`ll show it next week.

Das ist das Lieblingsbuch unserer Kinder in der Weihnachtszeit. That is the favorite book of the kids during the Christmas time.Der absolute Renner ; das Buch hat Max (16) mit 3 Jahren bekommen und es genauso geliebt wie die kleinen Brüder(11+7) jetzt.
Max (16)received that Book as he was 3 years old and loved it for a long time, like his small brothers(11 + 7) now.
Hier wohnt der Weihnachtsmann mit seinen Weihnachtswichteln. Santa lives in this house with his "Weihnachtswichtel" (elfs)
Das ist Kalle, einer der Weihnachtswichtel. Kalle möchte dem Weihnachtsmann ein Geschenk machen. Es sind sehr lustige Geschenke.

This is Kalle, one of the "Weihnachtswichtel"(elf). Kalle would like to make a gift for Santa. There are very funny gifts.

Jetzt soll ich das Stöckchen an 3 Menschen weitergeben. Das geht aber nicht, weil die meisten das Stöckchen schon hatten. Die, die es noch nicht hatten, möchten es sicher nicht, wenn ich da an die Diskussion während meines Sommerurlaubs denke.....
Also ich überlege noch, an wen ich das Stöckchen weiter geben kann.

Yesterday I bought a lot of cat food and took it home in this cardbox.






Luna love card boxes and this is a very special with paws on it.
A real good place to play on a rainy day.

Frieda is a cozy cat. She love it to nap on my knees.
Here you can see how comfortable she feels.

What can cats do, except to nap, when it always rains.

They can write a "wish list" for christmas.
It is a long list.

2.Advent

Es ist Sonntag , draussen regnet es und wir haben genug Zeit. It is a rainy Sunday and we have time enough.

Ich habe eine Bastelpackung für ein Hexenhäuschen gekauft und die Kinder dürfen es verzieren.
I bought a building kit for a witch house from the fairytale: Hänsel and Gretel and the kids would like to decorate it.
Mit Begeisterung kleben alle drei die Süßigkeiten mit Eiweißzuckerguß auf das Haus. Viele Bonbons landen auch direkt im Mund.
All kids love it to glue the sweets with frosting sugar on the house and a lot of sweets went into the mouth.
Hier ist das fertige Hexenhaus in seiner ganzen süßen Pracht. Here is the sweet witch house ready.
An Heiligabend darf das Haus geplündert werden. Dann ist die Wartezeit nicht so lang.
The day before Christmas the kids are allowed to eat the house. You can eat all parts of it, all is made from sugar and cake.
Nur die Räuchermännchen aus dem Erzgebirge dürfen qualmen, ansonsten herrscht Rauchverbot bei uns. wir haben spezielle Räucherkegel mit Weihnachtsduft dafür.
Only the wooden smoker from the ore mountains are allowed to smoke her in the house. Here is "no smoking" for humans. I put special smoking candles with christmas fragance in the body of the wooden smoker.
